This is the handwriting of Kilgore Trout, a character in several Kurt Vonnegut novels. Vonnegut portrayed Trout as a as a prolific but unappreciated science-fiction writer. His appearance, behavior and dates of birth varied in each of his novels. Vonnegut makes no attempt to reconcile these differences, with each version of Trout presumably existing in a separate universe from the others. Per Kurt Vonnegut, “Kilgore Trout once wrote a short story which was a dialogue between two pieces of yeast. They were discussing the possible purposes of life as they ate sugar and suffocated in their own excrement. Because of their limited intelligence, they never came close to guessing that they were making champagne.”
