Francoise Baufy worked as a gardener at the summer estate of Charles and Eileen McDermott in La Mal Bay, Canada. In the summer of 2008, Francoise saved the life of one of their daughters by pulling her out of their swimming pool. Eileen pledged to teach English to Francoise and his wife Simone and their seven children. They tried to return the favor by teaching Eileen French, but it just didn’t work for Eileen. Francoise and Simone now head up a special after-school class to teach English to the local French-Canadian children.
