vLetter Nate Font — FREE!
This font was developed in the style of the handwriting of Nathan Handwerker who co-founded a hot dog stand with his wife Ida in Coney Island in 1916. Nathan’s Famous became synonymous with hot dog restaurants and now host the The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest which has been held at the original location on Coney Island since the early 1970s. However, since long time winner Takeru Kobayashi is no longer a contestant, popularity has waned. In 2010, he was prohibited from entering the eating contest due to a contract dispute with the organizers. He rushed the stage and was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction of property and trespassing. Charges were later dropped.
