This is the handwriting font of David Charogne, leading expert on the plight of the Indian Vulture and their top advocate. Their numbers dropped by 99% by 2007. This was particularly troubling to the Parsis. It is their custom in their funeral ceremonies to take their deceased to the Tower of Silence where the corpse is consumed by vultures and other birds of prey. The decline of Indian vultures leads the corpses to take extended time to be devoured, leading to emotional distress among the deceased’s family. The disappearing vultures confounded scientists, until David’s studies found that a drug administered to cattle in India killed the vultures when they fed on the carcasses. Numbers are slowly coming back. Congrats to David!
