vLetter Akron Font — FREE!
Tha famous “Akron” font development was financed by James Patrick (Jimmy) Page, guitarist and leader of the famed rock band Led Zeppelin (so named as the new band was probably going to go over as well as a “lead balloon”).
In 1916, the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company purchased land near Akron, Ohio, to build a plant that could produce zeppelin aircraft. Goodyear currently operates several zeppelins out of their Akron facility.
“Jimmy Page” is a unabashed fan of zeppelins (“Led”) and otherwise).
