vLetter Deacon Font — FREE!
This is the handwriting font of Deacon Jones, member of the NFL’s “Hall of Fame”. We created this font soon after his death in 2013. Deacon coined the term “sacking the quarterback”, his specialty. In his words, “You’re sacking them, you’re bagging them.” Deacon started college on scholarship at South Carolina State in 1958, but his scholarship was revoked after he took part in a civil rights protest. He then finished his college football career at Mississippi Vocational College. Deacon played for the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers before retiring with the Washington Redskins. In the final game of his NFL career, the Redskins allowed him to kick the point-after-touchdown for the game’s last score. Great player, great man.
