Ernest, Count of Mansfeld, was a general for Germany during the 30 years war around the turn of the 16th century. The Ernest font reflects the perseverance required to fight one of the longest and most destructive continuous wars in history. The capital “E” character even acknowledges the confusion in the spelling of Ernest/Ernst/Brnest Graf von Mansfield.
