This is the handwriting of RIck Rockmore, an enthusiastic theremin performer who was electrified by the documentary “Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey” in 1993. The theremin produces that eerie “’50’s” sci-fi sound. It is used extensively in the Tim Burton film, “Mars Attacks” and a related instrument is heard in the Beach Boy’s “Good Vibrations”. Cool instrument. Uniquely, the performer doesn’t actually touch the instrument. The left hand floating near an antennae controls the pitch while the right hand near another antennae controls the volume. Want to scare the heck out of next year’s Halloween trick-or-treaters? Learn to play the theremin.
