vLetter Shepherd Font — FREE!
This is the handwriting font of Bimal Joshi of Kolkata (Calcutta) India. While our font designer Trevor A. was backpacking through India, he was amazed to find shepherds tending sheep in the Maidan. The sheep were discreetly spray painted different colors to identify the owner. The Maidan is an enormous green park in Kolkata laid out by the British consisting of 1,000 acres in the middle of crowded Kolkata. The Maidan is referred to as “the lungs of Kolkata” as it helps reduce air pollution. Trevor approached Bimal and in exchange for learning about shepherding and the Maidan, Trevor developed Bimal’s handwriting font.
