vLetter Virgil Font — FREE!

This is the handwriting of Virgil Galea of Bly, Oregon. Virgil was the first responder on May 5th, 1945 to a horrific explosion that resulted in the death of six people, including the pregnant wife of Rev. Archie Mitchell. The explosion was caused by a Japanese balloon bomb – one of over 9,000 reportedly sent aloft by the Japanese. These six people represent the only enemy-inflicted casualties on the U.S. mainland during WWII. Claudia Jensen, Archie’s daughter provided us with Virgil’s handwriting samples and financially supported the development of this font.
