This handwriting font was inspired by the handwriting of Don “Vince” Featherstone of Fitchburg, Massachusetts who passed away recently. Very early in his design career he became famous for creating the pink plastic lawn flamingo — the ultimate symbol of American lawn kitsch. A trained sculptor with a background in classical art, Featherstone created the now-ubiquitous pink flamingo in 1957, based on a photo he saw in National Geographic. “Things I did made people happy, and that’s what life is all about.” Doesn’t get any better than that!
