This is the handwriting font of Gayle Summerhill of Zebulon, North Carolina. Gayle was one of the first left handed dental assistant in the United States. Unbelievably, until 1963, all dental assistants in North Carolina were required to be right-handed due to the design of the equipment. Gayle took her case to the North Carolina Supreme Court, where after 35 months, she won her case. Unfortunately, by the time she won the decision, she was 3 months older than the maximum age allowed for dental assistants in North Carolina. The development of this font was financially supported by the NCLHDA association.
