Bowfin is a particularly beautiful font commissioned by Ms. Alicia Passwater of Okeechobee, Florida. Alicia spent her adult life as a fishery biologist for Florida Fish and Wildlife and focused on bowfin reproduction the last five years of her career. Bowfins are ancient fish that originated during the Jurassic period that can breathe air as well as water. Also, the bowfin exhibits aestivation, which is rare in fish – an unusual and fascinating trait (you’ll have to look this up, I don’t get paid enough to give you all the answers).
