Handy Randlesmith has a peculiar claim to fame. He was the stand-in for Bob Denver on the show Gilligan’s Island. It was a good way to make a living without having to put up with all the fame and attention, and he still receives royalty checks from reruns. Handy went on to do stand-in work for other shows, but none of them was as much fun as the iconic 1970s program. Says Handy, “I’ve always been grateful the 3-hour tour ended in a shipwreck!”
