This is the handwriting font of Jeff Crenshaw, who worked with astronomer Robert P. Kirshner in discovering the Boötes void during an exhaustive survey of galaxy redshifts. Although he didn’t get the same acclamation that others on the team received, his contributions were important. The Boötes void, at nearly 330 million light-years in diameter is one of the largest known voids in the universe, and is referred to as a supervoid. Jeff was the team masseuse during the draining, around-the-clock work done during the survey.
